Hi Darrin,
I am not a bike officer as of yet. I've recently taken an early
retirement from our local County Police Department ( where they had
several bike patrol units ) and had always wanted to give it a try. The
new agency, a University in Baltimore, has looked at it but, not with
great zest. Something about looking at other agencies' accident/injury
rate. This is a shame because it's a good idea for P/R and all that.
I was wondering were you formally trained ? If so, did you train
with another agency, or, take formal training at one of the schools for
bike patrol ?
Happy New Year to you and yours and I hope you will have many
years riding the rails.
John
