Running the audio through an external DAC and/or jitter reduction unit
seems to be the way to go in this regard. Two gentlemen I see out here from
time to time purchased top of the line LD Players about the time I bought
mine. One paid three times more than I, the second wouldn't say how much.
Neither sound any better than mine. Patch it through the DAC and anti jitter
and you have sound that will rival the best CD set ups. A HUGE difference...
and I don't use billion dollar patch cords.
There are a couple DAC units under $200 dollars that do a wonderful job.
The anti jitter units are something you will have to decide for yourself. My
ears couldn't hear the difference, while Moe insisted he could and Curley was
undecided. Personally, I don't have one yet and would put it toward the
bottom
of my list.
   Cheers, John
