    The first hit in my search for "Windows Image Acquisition Service",
turned up "Vulnerability in Windows Image Acquisition Service Allows
Elevation of Privilege (MS07-007)" .

   But you are "butchering up your Vista system by wantonly disabling
services".    -  It's more like making it hostile to viruses.
