NB>> Trip to the store sounds imminent... ;)
BS>
BS> Got there and discovered there was no electricity. Zip, Zero, Nada.
BS> Hung around for an hour or so and then decided return to Anchorage, 165
BS> miles away. I'd driven a few miles and thought it'd probably be wise
BS> to use a restroom, no electricity for the well pump. Only to discover
BS> they had no power, apparently it was fairly large since they said down
BS> to Anchor Point, which is 30 miles south I thinkg.
Oh, dear.... Did you ever find out what caused the power outage...?
BS>> progress about the second theft while I'm there. The truck guys trial
BS>> is the 24th, supposedly.
NB>> Hope that all works out ok....
BS>
BS> Got a call from somebody in the DA's office yesterday. I guess they'd
BS> tried 3 times to serve me with a subpoena, at the Kasilof address. I
BS> told them that on one occasion I'd told them I was in Anchorage.
BS> Anyhow they've got until the Monday to do something, or else the court
BS> system gets to transport me to Homer.
It can be pretty amazing how dense people can be.... especially as
related to government stuff.... We're currently in a go-round about the
Medicare definition etc of homebound with our primary care office...
Silly us, simply accepting what we were told in the hospital... which,
btw, does appear to be what the statute does say... but which apparently
his primary doctor (who has to set up the homedraw for the PT/INR draw
she wants done on Friday) doesn't accept it and thinks she'd be lying to
certify that he is... grrrrrr.... ;0
NB>> Probably.... Guess you need to train your mind to not wander to
NB>> problems when you are driving.... The rest seems like a decent
NB>> solution, even if people think you are snubbing them.... they can
NB>> learn to cope with it... ;)
BS> Seemed to end up as an office joke. I think they walked over to me
BS> and started a conversation just because and then started laughing. But
BS> then sometimes I'd say aloud something like "Well isn't that special",
BS> and they'd say "Aw crud", or words to that effect, because I'd found
BS> something like a gaping hole in the login process which would drop them
BS> into a command terminal instead of the tightly controlled user mode.
BS> So I guess we were even.
Good thing was they couldn't distract you from your primary mission. (G)
Not your fault you found the gaping holes... and eventually (when
patched) to their benefit... (G)
