I'm a more than a little interested in that "bit further to the
west" part. :-((
Actually, I hope it keeps heading due west towards Mexico then dies before
it gets there. We haven't had a good one since 1947, then a smaller one
followed the same path in 1948. "Betsy" hit us in 19
sixty-something, but we had no wind damage. The five weeks of flooding was
caused by the City forgetting to close the floodgates on the Intracoastal
waterway!
