Probably the dump SMTP/POP proxy goes bonkers.
I've had numerous staff people have that problem.
The usual cure is one of, or both of the following;
Restart Outlook/Outlook Express (most all are using Outlook).
Reboot computer.
In 99.9% of the above cases, one or both clears the problem.
