-=> Quoting Paul Westell to Tom Walker <=- PW> It certainly looks like almost anything will work with PW> waveguide tubes. Perhaps it is just my construction, but PW> for all the effort involved it seems anyone can stick a PW> wire in any tin can and have it work about as well as my PW> more carefully engineered efforts. Perhaps there is a PW> precision threshold i have yet to breach. I wish I still had my waveguide notes and textbooks from the Navy. But I do remember how the dimensions of waveguides' walls and the dish affected the signal, very much like the construction of RG transmission lines and antenna for radio/TV transmitters. It's possible to lose power out (ERP) with signals reflected back to the transmitter feeding a waveguide, just like those standing waves on a transmission like reflecting back to a radio/TV transmitter. ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Shakey Jake's *ALL FREE BBS* Santee, CA (1:202/1324) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 202/1324 10/3 106/2000 633/267 |
