Yes; the data transmit & receive lines are switched on the null-
modem cable, and the appropriate hardware signalling lines are
as well. (A's transmit is connected to B's receive, and so on.)
To link two computers by their serial ports, you must use a
null-modem cable. Both ports should also be set to the same
speed, and data format (19200 baud, 8N1, for example). I've
done this myself many times, among several different types of
computer, including CP/M, Macintosh, and IBM. It works well.
