I'm running on three different computers 6 scsi drives 73 Giga and 3 scsi
drives 18 Giga. Maxtor/Seagate and Fujitsu. Running since 4 years without
any problem. 5 years ago I had 3 Hitachi with an IBM sticker failing within
a year. Some will tell that's because I'm sending bad radiations at
anything that looks IBM, but I'm afraid that is more about believing than
being in the real World. For backups I'm using a couple Maxtor Atlas 10-K3
drives (7 years old or so) and they still do very well.
Anyway, at Ebay Hitachi scsi drives with or without IBM sticker are going
at utterly, utterly cheap prices. Guess why. Anyway, don't say you haven't
been warned. :-)
