        I disagree. The ongoing story with Umbrella is a big part of the
game. I hope that they really go into this in the Resident Evil movie.
Ada, who was a side character in RE2 wrote messages that we read in the
original RE, as well as wondering what happened to the original STARS
team, and who was the "mystery woman" near the end of the game.
        If anything it added a sense of horror, foreboding, and the
sense of unescapable doom with having the story mostly revealed in
journals and notes throughout the game from those who couldn't escape
the horror as it was unfolding.
        The games are as much finding out what happened as they are on
how to survive and escape.
