        Last time I used a sling, I don't know the velocity, but there was a
definite snap just before release and the projectile sang beautifully.  Tis a
good way to hurl a rotten egg as well. ;-)  The trick is in the final snap
before release.
        By way of an informed incident I guess, the SanDiego PD had a problem
with Viet Namese gangs using shotgun shells in some way so as to cause them 
o
react almost like a grenade on impact.  I'm not too sure how they did it, but
fortunately, they confined it to gang conflicts.
        But, any wise Patriot will keep in mind the problems of unenforcible
laws when violence comes calling.  I've been miffed at our local yokels who
seem to be more report takers than peace officers.  After 3 burglaries and no
recovery or advice, I took simple steps to discourage them in the future.
Now, my insurance agent cautions me about `innocent' persons who just may
scale our block walls and stroll across the lot.  SO.  I made a definite 
oise
that our dogs are really sweet little beasts who just get nervous when
strangers come round.  (G)  But, we can get cactus to grow pretty well around
here and some of it is pretty and functional as well.  And then, who is going
to really fight me on how I store some things in the yard?  Think I should
write a book or something.
