Ocassionally OMC (Johnson/Evinrude) will run a promotion whereas they
might be looking for a certain model & horsepower engine...and if you
should have it, they would trade you for a new engine. I haven't heard
of a promotion like that being offered in some time, but at any rate it
would in all probability need to be a very old engine. To my knowledge,
the 1958 model is of no great value right now.

Having the wrong color wouldn't decrease the value, but it simply
wouldn't look right. The proper color(s) should be available thru any
OMC dealer if they are still available. Be sure to use the "Green Zink
Chromate" primer that's available from OMC or Tempo, to name a couple.
Any other primer will give you problems.

The decals (Originaal) will be a big problem. If any dealer has them, or
if they might be still available (Doubtfull), I believe those are the
type that had to be applied by using a special solution...and were
really a first class pain, and expensive! I'd suggest that you settle
for decals from a later model engine (Peel off type) and improvise in
this area.
