Hi! Kevin, On 04 Nov 08 15:21, you wrote to me: KK> BAT2EX makes the *.com file but the *.com file error's out, the batch KK> programming has to be tweaked. [ ...trimmed... ] KK> --- cut here --- KK> Any ideas with this *.cmd file? I think it's the spaces in the paths KK> and the quotes. Perhaps if you look for and use the -short- directory name equivalents, instead? You know the ones off of a DIR listing that end in "~1". They'll work just as well with a CD command. It works on my wife's XP-Pro (though the DIR command needed a "/X" switch to show the short names). Keep going with it. Oh, I had a thought about your supposed hackers. Given some thought about how DOS works, and, the location of the directory where your Archive.Com file resides in the DOS search PATH, you could plant dummy Do.Com, Do.Bat, Do.Exe, Espace.Bat, Espace.Exe and Espace.Com type files to throw any hackers off. I have great example from one of the Batch Ghods, Vernon Frazee, from back in '96 as a candidate; just ask and I'll post it. Also, a nice juicy-looking directory called "C:\Halliwell Sisters' Powder Room Diaries" could be a goodie. ;-) Cheers, Paul. ... Oh! I get it!
