I'll take this opportunity to once again make a strong recommendation
for using Privoxy as a local html proxy. (privoxy.org)

It enables the user to configure things like cookies, popups, java, on
a per-site basis. Actually per-site isn't exactly correct. The config
targets are actually regular expression strings, so they work on domain
names, paths, filenames, etc. It's very highly configurable.

I use a default configuration which allows session cookies only; and
then add sites to another configuration file for which I want permanent
cookies, or separately, pop-ups, and many other very useful filterings.

Using regex strings enables blocking requests from, or filtering
content delivered by, .*doubleclick.*/ in a single line, without having
to name each host and name variant in the doubleclick empire.

Restarting the program is not required between configuration changes.

I also appreciate it's 'forwarding' potential, by which I forward
individual sites through an SSH tunnel, or a remote anonymizing proxy.

I also send other browsers on the local net through privoxy.

I'm sure you'll all like it.
