JA>markets. Obviously, your station shows it at 8PM. Voyager will be on at
PM
JA>on Wednesday nights. Just swapping places with the Sentinel for some
eason
JA>known only to those folks who make that sort of decision at UPN. :)
Here's why, John. This via Earl Green:
As of November 5th, UPN is swapping Voyager and Sentinel; Voyager
will air at 7:00pm (central) and Sentinel at 8:00pm (central), until
further
notice.
Also, you may have heard about UPN's upcoming Thursday night sci-fi
movie. It is officially toast. When UPN's new CEO, Dean Valentine,
took over, the first thing he wanted to do was scrap the Tuesday night
comedies "Hitz" and "Head Over Heels" (the former starring Andrew
Dice Clay, who seems to be bad press for anyone who takes him on).
But Valentine was immediately told he couldn't do this - because due
to the previous regime's absolutely awful management, no new shows
were currently in development. Reluctantly, Valentine had to give
"Head Over Heels" a 13-episode order, and a 22-episode order for "Hitz,"
until something can be put into development.
Since UPN was incapable of filling one half-hour slot on short notice,
Valentine decided that the network doesn't have its sh...tuff together
enough to fill a two-hour Thursday night movie. So the much-touted
Thursday night sci-fi flick is history, until this time next year at the
earliest, if Valentine doesn't cancel the project altogether.
Valentine isn't being a tightwad about this - he is looking at UPN from
a *realistic* point of view from someone who has dealt with the major
networks. UPN wouldn't make it two more years if they continued the
previous CEO's very relaxed way of doing things, so these are actually
good signs.
