LOYS, I have never seen this engine you described, but at an agricultural
field day I saw what was described as a coke engine.
Seems this engine burnt coke or hard wood and the heat from the fire some how
drove a huge piston.
The engine was used to pump water for some fourty years and apparently lifted
water some fourty five feet up a hill. I believe it was run some eight hours
each day for the course of it's working life.
Allways struck me as one of life's little puzzles really.
