And here I thought this was something unique in our area. We live in a
senior housing park. Lots of the people feed peanuts to the birds and
squirrels. Course the blue jays end up with most of them and are not
particular where they deposit the things after they have satisfied
themselves by taking them away from the squirrels and other birds. The
jerks very seldom break them open and eat them.
I have found them actually sprouting in the spring and have left them along
in the past to see if they would grow, but they never get past a certain
point before wilting down.
