So how do you spend your Saturday night?

I've lately been looking for a copy of the nodelist. Does any SysOp out
there have an up-to-date copy available for freq? (rhetorical question
really)

I finally found a (rather old) version, thanks to Mr. Leniart Esq.

Then went hunting for the diffs.

I started with day 131. I don't know how many nodes were listed. BUT I
did keep notes with each new diff application.

 Day Nodes Diff Time

 138 37262 2:07
 145 37063 -199 2:08
 152 36939 -124 2:11
 159 36781 -158 2:12
 166 36800 +19 2:08 We gained a few 8^)
 173 36770 -30 2:09
 180 36819 +49 2:11 And a few more
 187 36745 -74 2:08
 194 36426 -319 2:09 *OUCH*
 201 36527 +101 2:07 Whoops, a couple more
 208 36496 -31 2:06
 215 36285 -211 2:09
 222 36275 -10 2:07
 229 36171 -104 2:07

By my calculations it'll take 323 weeks before Fidonet disappears
altogether.

 -1091 nodes/13 weeks=

-84 nodes per week 36171/84=430.6 weeks

This is roughly 8.2 years. Enjoy it while you still have a node to
connect to. 8^)

And it'll probably take Traplist an average of 2 minutes 8.5 seconds to
process the diff.

 Cache Ya,
 Craig. chutch{at}nwamiga.apana.org.au

... Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.
