He was one of the kids from a family of genetic alcoholics that was put
on Ritalin as a child.  It made him a zombie, unable to learn properly
and to interact socially.  It crippled him.
His diagnosis, according to the psychiatrist I got him to see, was ADD
with bipolar disorder.  Brothers and father were alcoholics who fought a
lot, most possibly also bipolar in nature.
He is still on the dole, Jerry.  Still crippled mentally.
