Hello
Andre, I strongly advise you to download the *latest* bios which is
1015.002 dated mid 2003. Don't worry about it's so-called beta status as
this is common after boards leave normal support cycle. Just be sure the
link has as many of your suffix letters on the model name as possible.

If you use the proper flash program that asus provides it is a simple
matter to backup what's on there now so you have it on the flash medium as
well as on file somewhere else. It is considered good practise in most
cases to reset bios to "default settings" both before you flash
it and for one POST after you flash it.

Obviously it's also good practise to write down your settings. After
first POST of the new bios once more go into setup and customize. Be sure
to enable LBA, DMA and any other items (AGP first comes to mind) and I
personally recommend turning off any devices such as LPT or serial ports
you don't use. It's the old KISS method habit I 'spose.

Just to add to your assurance and fight any fears you may have about beta
status, I ran a P3B-F Slot 1 (w/ a socket 370 slotket installed for use of
a 1.7Ghz Celeron) until just two years ago nearly 24/7. I actually bought
it back to give to my sister since it ran fine for the lady who bought it
from me, she just wanted a more modern box from Dell as the result of some
idiot software teacher's advice. It still has the same beta bios. I am
typing this letter on an Asus TUSL-C2 machine which has a custom bios made
by a gamer/hacker that locks in AGP X4 even when you overclock. It has
been running 24/7 with various windows, OS/2 and Linux OS's (multiboot) for
about 2 years now. If you don't like the new bios for whatever reason (not
at all likely) you can always go back as long as it will still boot from
floppy. It's completely up to you but bios updating, particularly from
that era shoud be all you need to recognize larger dirves assuming your
settings are correct.

Best Wishes
Jimmy
