It runs Aero fine, it's a good machine and my current corp config.

Are you running it at work?  A few of my utility apps are working fine on
the laptop, so that enhances my calm about upgrading the desktop.

Did it set itself up for dual booting or did you have to lend it a hand?

I can see within a year or so moving to 64-bit, mainly because of AutoCAD. 
Are you doing 64-bit on the desktop yet?
