PE> Hmmm, I don't know that I actually have any tool that will zero out the
PE> first physical sector. I'll have to hunt down how to do that in OS/2.

You can always just boot a real dos floppy and do it from there.

RS> I presume you have checked the APARs on that question ?

PE> APAR= PJ16065

PE> OS/2 2.X, 3.0 FAILS TO BOOT FRM A PARTITION BEYOND

Certainly looks significant.

PE> In fact, I can't even set the parameters for my

RS> Are you talking about the auto detect ? Or was your the one which
RS> just noticed the extra drive when you booted with it plugged in ?

PE> I can autodetect and get parameters for all 4 drives

PE> accept them. If I don't like them, I can go and set my own

gives me my first two

Are you saying you cant set LBA on the last two drives ? Again, too cryptic.

Looks like it may well be just a not very satisfactory bios on that
stuff. You should be able to just install the drive on the secondary
cable in NORMAL mode tho, with the installable partition below the
1024 cylinder limit, and just not be able to plain DOS boot and see it.

RS> Corse what with Merlin coming, that may radically change
RS> the detail too, you could easily spend a lot of time farting
RS> around with Warp working out what it is fussy about on that
RS> only to find they fixed that blemish with Merlin too.

PE> When is Merlin due to be buyable?

IBM never says definitively. They are currently flogging Warp
with a free upgrade to Merlin, so it cant be that far away.

PE>I found out that I am using Amibios. One of these GUI Bios setups - radical

Generally called the AMI Winbios. Its got some significant downsides
on that drive config stuff currently compared with the Award. Havent
done much with that lately, all the recent machines have been Awards.
