I thought that local calls via Optus were currently timed?  Are you
suggesting that if I use the 1456(?) prefix, I will only be charged
$(0.93*0.25) for that call, regardless of how long it is?

Dunno, I'm only relating what Alan K had recently told me privately, and
he's certainly in a position to know, as you're well aware.  Might be worth
