They're documented. in the ms-dos 3.x documentation, by version 6 the three
unix-like options had all been dropped by microsoft. (they're not even
undocumented features any more)
IIRC DRDOS still supports some of them.
the three freature I refer to are:
enforced \dev\ prefix for devices
\dev\com1, \dev\nul, \dev\con, etc.. with the un-prefixed names
referring to ordinary disk files. (the \dev\ prefix can still be used)
join
which behaves like mount "join a: \mnt\floppy"
switchchar
which lets you use "/" in place of "\" on the command-line
and "-" in place of "/" "dir -w c:/dos"
the dos (and windows) kernel still supports using / in place of \ in
filenames that are not on the command-line
I think \dev\ was the first to be dropped and then switchchar and then join.
DRDOS still supports some of these features (I forget which)
