That's your opinion, and you're certainly entitled to it.  We all have
to pick a sponsor that's right for us.
When I started coming around the rooms, I *needed* a "hard ass" as you
put it.  I came into the rooms a sick pup, and by the grace of my HP, he
put people in my life that would help me.  Having an old timer tell me
what to do was what this alcoholic needed to build a strong foundation
in the fellowship.

I've known a few people that *intended* to use the listerine to gargle,
but then swallowed it & went back out there.
