Hard to keep track of his upgrades, but I seem to recall that Bob's HD was
replaced not all that long ago, which means that it should support mode 4.

Quite likely, as I've never seen one of those.  I believe that they're
quite expensive though, and only available on up-market boards, or as a
high-priced 3rd party add-on BIOS.
