No luck involved.  I never had a reason to use or need Windows.  Like I
said, I wrote one printer driver for Windows as a favour.  Never did
anything about or for it after that.  Also I learned UNIX before DOS as I
didn't hae a PC until the 386 hit the market, and even then had to figure
out how to make DOS more UNIXie.  Thus when Linux started looking
interesting it didn't take much to convince me to drop DOS completely. 
Windows?  What for?

No.  That is totally false.  Linux network apps work way better on the
internet.  Maybe some lowlifes that steal your personal information need
you to be running Windows.  Most legitimate servers are running a UNIX
enviromment.
