G'day Dieter,

Replying to a message of Dieter Mirbach to Jeff Green on 05-08-96:

JG>> As an example, last night it was down to 200 CPS on a 28.8k
JG>> connection. Other nights I've ftped files at 3000+ CPS.

DM> The first connect speed wont have much impact on a V32bis
 DM> then... ;-)

Like I said, it all depends. The other day I was ftping files from
Melbourne and the Hobbes site in the US concurrently and overall CPS was
reported as
1300. I found this acceptable.

JG>> Min $15/month AFAI know. Last month cost me $17 for 17 hours.
 DM> Very reasonable.

So I thought compared to some others.

JG>> They don't support OS/2 but I have no problems connecting with Warp's
JG>> DOIP via a slip connection with a .cmd file.

DM> I'll get back to you on that one. Did you write the cmd file
 DM> yourself ?

No. I hacked (badly) an existing cmd file. It works, so I'm happy.

JG>> They do support Windows 3.1, Win95, Macintosh and Linux.

DM> Well, I still have WfWg at home, so all is not lost. However, I
DM> shall state that I would prefer OS/2 support.

I offered to pretty up the cmd file and send it along to them but they
never got back to me about it.
