I thought it would get rid of the directory read only attributes but 
Kris's message here got me interested so I tested it and he is correct.  
Apparently my script to delete directories works because the readonly on 
a directory doesn't stop it from getting removed.  Here is the short 
script to get rid of the files readonly attribute though.

/* Remove readonly attribute recursively */
/* Define Rexx Functions */
call RxFuncAdd 'SysFileTree', 'RexxUtil', 'SysFileTree'
call SysFileTree Arg(1)'\*.*', 'file', 'BSO', '***+*', '***-*'  /*
