TR> I figured that it was a catfish and that catfish
TR> are bottom feeder which would not interfere with
TR> the other in the tank. I was wrong. The beast
TR> immidately goes on the prowl whenever I put even
TR> the smallest pellet in the tank. At feeding time,
TR> it looks like a freeking Baleen Whale with his
TR> gaping jaws vacuuming the surface. When its done
TR> with that, it starts rummaging the gravel to see
TR> what else it can find. He doesn't bother the
TR> other fish directly. The problem is that he eats
TR> every scrap of food in the tank before anyone
TR> else can get to it.

i would hazard a guess that he is simply hungry... it is likely that he's
not been getting enough to eat all this time... i've seen my plecos and
oscars do the same thing... increase feeding quantity and times for a while
until you start getting food left over and then start slacking off a bit...
i've had to so this in the past and this "resolved" things...

i currently have a tank with regular bream (brim?) in it... when i first
netted them and brought them in, they didn't eat for two weeks... then they
ate heavily every day 5 or 6 times a day... now that they know that they
can eat when they are hungry, they've dropped back to eating only once a
day and the both of them eat maybe 10 to 12 pellets between them... they
may go a day or two before they show that they are hungry again... i can
always tell that they are fine when i have to scoop left overr food from
the tank 5 or 10 minutes after feeding them...
