Understood except /dev/hda1 which I already know you meant to type.

Yeah.  Windows sucks for sure, especially installation.  Deleting it might
be fun except that it never gets installed on any machine here so I am only
speculating on that.  I have installed it for other people but that was
many years ago and only women I liked at the time.  Otherwise I don't get
near it.  However it proved  never to be worth it, looking back.
