Two reasons that a starter/generator won't start a large engine:
One, not enough reduction gearing to get the torque required. And:
Two, way too much torque required to crank that Chevy. These S/G setups are
usually on single-cylinder engines that often have automatic compression
releases. If it can't be started with a rope, a S/G rig probably won't do the
job, either.
