No, I think he meant freedom... freedom from an imposing government he 
wants no part of. Freedom to run his own life. Freedom to make the 
decisions he feels best regarding his own life. Also, freedom from 
taxation and misrepresentation. Physical freedom, not when the boss 
says it's ok for you to leave (if you raise your hand first.) Freedom 
from having his possessions arbitrairly confiscated by whim of 
government... oops! Sleeping bags and personal gear are routinely 
confiscated from them, too... ok, forget that one.
I think the freedom to make one's own life choices pretty much sum it 
up.
