That doesn't mean that your PCMCIA is not able to save the settings. It 
only means that the &W command is not listed in the help screens. Why 
don't you do a test? Using a terminal program, do an ATZ, then an ATI4, 
choose a command, let's say that you have X4 in your settings, change it 
to X1, do an AT&W, do an ATZ, do an ATI4 and see whether the X1 was 
saved or not.
