subject: SUN CONURES

ET-> On november 25th I bought a sun conure cage and all supplies for 300.
-> The bird was 6 months old at the time so it was definately young
ETYou made out like a bandit...where, may I ask, did you get that kind of
  a deal around here?
I met someone in a pet shop that was looking to sell one. I saw the
prices there at the pet shop and it really shocked me. I can remember
sun's going for around forty bucks.
ETWe have 3 budgies, 4 finches, and a young (almost 4 mo. old) grey
cockateil named Merlin that we got when he (we don't really know for
sure yet..might be a 'she'), was 5 weeks old. We hand fed him and he is
just adorable...thinks he's a human. The only problem is that he walks
all over our keyboards and that can be a bit annoying when you are in an
intense game of LORD or Trade Wars.
I've had cockatiels for more than 15 years now. The first one I
bought is the only one left. His name is grumpy. He earned that name
years ago. I think they all believe they are human. I knew you had
cats and dogs but I didn't realize birds were part of your animal
kingdom too. Sunny was raised around a cat at his previous home and
when I brought him home he had no fear of the cats there. Now he's
around two dogs.
ETI would really love to get a hyacinth macaw, but I doubt if I'll have
that kind of money anytime soon. I also wouldn't mind having an african
grey or a cockatoo, but Chris likes Eclectus and Lories. However, we
may have to wait until we get a larger place than this condo since we
already have a small zoo here (4 cats, a dwarf rabbit, a guinea pig, 8
  birds, a teenage son and a husband...what a crew!)
I personally like the Blue and golds or the scarlets. Someone told
me that a true baby hyacinth is going for $10,000 now. Damn its been a
long time since I was pricing parrots!
ETOh BTW, there is a great Internet newsgroup about birds called
rec.pets.birds. Also many, many great bird web pages. Just type in
birds in one of the Internet 'search' facilities and you're off
  on a wonderful trail.
I saw the newsgroup breifly while we were connected. We should be
getting a feed again real soon. Thanks.
ETWell, good luck with your feathered kid(s).
ETPeace,
  Elaine Tlush
    Once again thanks. C-ya on-line
