-> Reasons to update to a newer versions of Windows might be to -> get use of more than 256 meg of memory, support larger hard -> drives, avoid the major fragmentation of FAT32, support for USB -> 2.0 and other newer hardware that W98 does not support. DOOM -> III, for instance, won't work on W98 machines. :-) I don't have any USB-2 support problems on my Win 98SE Install. Works my External Yamaha USB-2 CDRW and 4.0 Gig Laptop Hard drive in a USB-2 case just fine at USB-2 speeds. OF course I did have to Download a Driver becaue one is not included on the Win98SE Cd but MOST USB-2 Device manfacturers provide them. Either on an Install CD with other programs or on their Web site for download. And Win98 supports up to 512 Meg Effecently as I recall. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Shakey Jake's *ALL FREE BBS* Santee, CA (1:202/1324) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 202/1324 10/3 106/2000 633/267 |
