Hi, Tom.
 > IC> We are glad too, and eager to get Desterm 3.00.
TR> Just in case I don't make it to the Commie echoes, please let us
TR> know in here -- disguised in a message about how your Courier works
 TR> so well, naturally. :-)
Well, its first beta version was released and my Sportster is very happy
with it. :-)
It's really great (RTS/CTS, 115200 DTE rate, Zmodem, faster screen and
disk routines, support for CMD drives, etc.) but it has many bugs to be
removed.
 TR> What's that fancy-schmancy UART that they use under CP/M? 6551
 TR> comes to mind.
Yes, it's the 6551 ACIA. The C128 CP/M has the code for it but the 6551
was never installed on the C128. The Swiftlink and Turbo232 interfaces
also use the 6551 but they're not efficiently used by the C128 CP/M. One
would have to rewrite its RS-232 routines.
 > IC> It's "that QWK reader that runs under CP/M".
 TR> Cool! :-) I think I've got 1.40 floating around here somewhere.
Version 1.40 was the first one supporting QWK. Before it only supported
XRS. Unfortunately, Paul Martin stopped working on it.
