Hello to you Ken, I wish you a nice day !
KH> Do you know if DCC works in 4-bit or 8-bit modes? I am aware of DCC's
KH> existence, but it requires the usage of network components
I wish that I were an expert and could type with authority, you
will have to make do with my humble reply. I do not think that DCC
requires NIC cards at all. I did not have any in the days that I used
DCC on the LPT1. Also, I believe that it is 8-bit as the rate is quite
acceptable. The "network" items used in this setup is barely a LAN. If
it makes use of the builtin network in the Windows OS at all, it is
really very basic and might just hide under the term of "Network". I
still have to see if it is still available in XP.
I am back in BW after going to XP menu and it is there too. Go
to Help and Support and weed you way to the Direct Cable Connection. It
is all there for you to use. Good luck !
