If you have a dishwasher, you are probably not using all three
dish-drainers that you have accumulated through various domestic
breakdowns and garage-sales.
Clean out the kitchen cupboard where you keep the rag-tag
assembly of three different partial sets of crockery, wash all
crockery, wipe cupboard and then ELEVATE THE LOWEST SHELF so that
a dish-drainer with standing plates could fit in there.
You may have to snip one (long) side off the drainer in order for
the cupboard door to close, and to make it easy to slide the set
of plates in and out. (I elected to keep three of everything in
the cupboard, and store the rest, cleaned, in a carton)
The snipped-off front side of the drainer makes a rake about
sixteen inches wide and with tines about 3.5 inches long. Off it
goes as a kitty-litter scoop, a composter rake, or to the local
day-care centre - especially if it is all-plastic and not
plastic-covered steel.
Now. Time for a coffee. Where did I put the cups?
