(Cont'd. CUFOS Timeline.)
Jesse Marcel Sr. is interviewed by a number of researchers,
including Leonard H. Stringfield & Stanton Friedman. Marcel tells them
he is sure the wreckage is nothing from earth. Later, Marcel grants
interviews to various news organizations, but these do not gain wide
dissemination. ( Randle & Schmitt, 1994. P. 176.)
December 1979.
Reporter Bob Pratt interviews and later publishes his interview
with Jesse Marcel in which "Marcel admitted that he was the
intelligence officer who had recovered parts of a flying saucer." (
Ibid.)
January 1980.
Charles Berlitz and William L. Moore publish "The Roswell Incident",
the first attempt at a comprehensive analysis of the events at Roswell.
In the course of his research, Moore located and interviewed over 70
witnesses who had some knowledge of the event. ( Ibid.)
1980.
Jesse Marcel appears on the syndicated television program " In Search
Of.." during a show featuring UFO Cover Ups. Marcel will insist again
that the debris he handled had no earthly origin.
1987.
William L. Moore & Jaime Shandera release what appears to be an
official briefing of the Roswell event for President Elect Eisenhower.
This Majestic Twelve briefing latter proves to be a forgery, possibly a
disinformation campaign. It partially succeeds in splitting the Roswell
investigation into two seperate camps in later years.
October 1988.
Jim Parker's son sees a strange pickup truck on the ranch where the
debris were found. Parker & son chase it down & discover two men in a
USAF pickup truck with camper unit. Inside are maps of the local area.
The men are in their late twenties or early thirties and of apparent
low rank. They claim to be surveying the area to put in a radar site to
monitor low-flying aircraft, but then asks if Parker knows about the
Roswell crash, mentioning the site is somewhere close. Parker does not
know what they are talking about. The men leave the ranch then. No one
from the Air Force has asked permission from the owners of the ranch to
enter the property. ( Randle & Schmitt, 1994. p. 176-177.)
( To continue, but I'm out of time now!)
