RM> Just currious if anyone can help... I installed Terminate 4.00... and it
RM> installed dip switches to my USR Sporster 28.8 V.34 modem... well... my
RM> modem isn't taking to it very well and my BBS is down becasue of it...
the FIRST step is to learn to use and use the correct terminology.
1. there is no way for a software package to install dip switches.
2. dip switches are switches like little light switches that are
encased in Dual Inline Pin packaging. on external modems, these
switches are generally on the little block on the back of the
modem.
RM> does anyone out there have their manual (mine is in storage) that can tell
RM> me how to set 'em electronicly to factory standards?
AT&F1&W will set the modem to factory profile #1 and store it in
NVRAM profile #1. this profile uses hardware handshaking (CTS/RTS) and is
generally required for highspeed modem communications...
with the above, your init string would simply be ATZ.
