When I was stationed at Sheppard AFB, TX. in 1988, my daughter and I
saw what I considered to be three UFOs. I had been in the USAF for
8 years at the time, and had seen a variety of aircraft before, and
these didn't fit anything I had seen. I sighted them at about 8:30pm,
and it was dusk, not quite dark yet. They traveled from west to east,
and very slowly went across the sky. They were triangular in shape,
had a white light at the port side, an orange light on the front tip,
and an orange light on the starboard side. The lights strobed in an
unusual manner. These three craft flew in a triangular formation. I
told my daughter to go into the house and get a flashlight. When she
came back with it, I signal flashed the lead craft with two flashes.
Its starboard light responded similarly. I tried three flashes, and
it responded the same. My daughter then became scared and went into
the house. I watched the craft slowly traverse the sky until they
were gone. When they were no longer visible, two of the base's F-16s
came flying over low and fast in the direction where the craft
disappeared from view as though in pursuit. I just want to know if
anyone out there saw anything similar to these craft and when.
