| subject: | The BBSing hobby |
Hi Mark,
About "The BBSing hobby" of November 17:
MS> I think BBSers will be better keep what makes their hobby unique and
MS> develop what they have. ...fix it (or renew it)...
MH> Except that you can't fix... The new breed of computer users.
One would waste his time trying to sell this hobby to such guys and
i wouldn't suggest they're a part of what makes BBSing unique, anyway...
MH> Most if not all of the new people getting computers today believe
MH> that the only thing out there on the internet is the web and email.
Then, the old-timers among us got a mission: to inform the newbies
how to enjoy their experience better! I'd mention multi-media 1st since
it's what shines the most and then i'd manage to make BBSing fit at some
point, as i slowly go thru the full range of NetWork applications. With
enough stretching, even NetWorked/DialUp Messaging will seem coherent...
Salutations, :)
