 The new Ham frequencies for listening to Mir as of 01/01/97 are;
 Rx = 145.800 MHz
 If you are a ham radio operator use - 600 KHz shift for Tx, (145.200MHz).
 I have spoken to the cosmonauts on several occasions using just a discone
 antenna and a HT transmitting 4 watts.
 The Mir space station is only 400km above the earth so listening to it's
 transmissions should not be difficult. This also depends on whether they
 are in sleep mode (approx. the same day/night times as Russia).
 Packet radio is usually working all the time as it works automatically.
 If you have PKTMON12.ZIP and the Hamcomm interface these packet signals
 can be decoded easily. I have the frequency for packet somewhere around
 here if you need it, 437.??? MHz.
 Regards Paul.
