Hi Ed,
  Just for fun have you monitored voltage to the coil?  If the fuel delivery
is fine, that just leaves ignition... Either a voltage dropping out, or a
poor wire connection/semi-broken wire rattling around.
Hook up a voltmeter at your coils 12volt terminal and watch that while the
engines running and see what it does when the engine dies.
