| subject: | 8-bit LPT cable |
Hello to you Terry, I wish you a nice day !
KH> Has anyone done 8-bit file transfers via the PC's parallel port?
I used to do a lot of this before using a DCC that is a poorman's
LAN. It worked quite nicely. The cable was mated to the LPT1 connector
on the two systems. Have not done any lately as I am now on a real LAN.
My three systems are on NICs 10/100. Much better. One of them, a
Thinkpad, is on wireless LAN.
The DCC is built-in Windows, not the cable though, but it is
available on eBay for not too many $$.
