Hello all,
After having suffered for over a week I have finally eCS1.1 installed in
the way I want it.
I'd replaced the original 40 Giga disk by a blank 80 Giga one, so the
1024 cylinders issue was not a problem, and with XWP and other bells and
whistles not installed I/you/we can have a stable system.
Remaining problems are:
- The nic of which I don't care for now-
- The soundcard.
Sound drivers for the in build (of course) card are in the file
ad1819os2_317.zip avaible at Hobbes.
However, albeit they are supposed to do so, these drivers are giving
sound in WinOS2 (the installer can't install them apparently). And sound
in OS2 itself has a rather poor quality.
So I tried the Uniaud drivers. These are giving an excellent sound in
OS/2 (and Innotek's VPC). Then, for Winos2, I've tried to use the dta
drivers:
genaud-v3.1r02.zip
and the newer one:
27-12-03 16:45 110.131 0 a--- dta.zip
Alas. When installed both drivers are initiated and activated, but
before the WPS has to come up I've a hang at PMshell ....
Is anyone aware of a way out?
