subject: FYI - I posted this via Group Webpage to eComstation group

Hi all,

Following posted to eComStation Yahoo group.

Hi all,

I attempted unsuccessfully to post the following via e-mail, when the
Yahoo problems recently commenced, so attempted again about 24 hours
ago, with the same result.

Hi all,

  Article on ZD-Nets WhatsNew

Daylight Savings Time Change Could Be Bigger than Y2K

I love the fact that, here in the U.S., we're moving up daylight
saving time to early March. It means more sunlight later, and a
quicker end to winter. But from a computer perspective, it could
turn into a real disaster. That's because very little attention, or
preparation, has gone into our computer systems. Anything that
relies on a timestamp could be affected. Our story tries not to turn
this into a Chicken Little exercise

http://ct.eletters.whatsnewnow.com/rd/cts?d=181-818-1-411-2276605-47213-0-0-0-1>,
but it does lay out the reasons why this could be huge.

>From last night some time - I am having problems now synchronizing
with time-a.nist.gov using time868.exe.

Going to the NIST web-site and selecting check current time - that
item is timing out.

Has anyone in the US been experiencing the same problem?

Here are entries in my time868 log to indicate the current problem -
which I have reported to the web-master at nist.time.gov.

Latency = 0.125 sec

local time here currently is 15:50:45 Saturday March 10th

Apart from initial entry above entries were about 30 seconds apart -
done manually.

I thought that it may have had to do with Beta 4 having set my
timezone to "AST-10" [I usually use KST-10KST,1,1,1,0,1,1,1,0,0]
but rebooting with it set to the latter - same problem!

Regards,
Mike
