I'm probably not the best one to try to answer this as I am a rank
amateur, and I do mean RANK. However, my guess is that OS/2's single
message queue has bitten you. You say that you started a time consuming
chore in your program, then it doesn't respond to the keyboard in a
timely manner. Try starting a separate thread for the time consuming
chore. This will free up the original thread to process keystrokes.
