subject: 8-bit LPT cable

-> TW> Actualy I just did it last week using Laplink and a Laplink Compatable
->  TW> Parallel Cable.

-> Tom, do you know for sure that it was using 8-bit transfers, and not
-> 4-bit? If it was 8-bit, could you please tell me the version #, and if
-> it came with any cable documentation?

 Sorry. Further investigation shows it most likely is a 4 bit transfer
process. I can use the "Standard" "Laplink" cables sold
at fry's and
other computer places.
My laplink also is the DOS version. When I was transfering files on Win
95 machines I jsut ren the DOS versio nis a DOS window. For my transfers
on Win98Se I now use a USB Transfer cable and a program called PC-Linq.
